Everything restaurant owners, managers, beverage directors, and staff need to know about setup, pairings, branding, QR ordering, POS, and guest engagement.
Getting started
From account creation to putting your first QR code on a table.
01What is SipSavior?+
SipSavior is a branded restaurant menu and digital sommelier. Diners scan a QR code, browse your real food and beverage menus, and receive ranked food-and-drink pairings with an explanation of why each match works.
02Who is SipSavior built for?+
It is designed for restaurants, bars, breweries, tasting rooms, hotels, and hospitality groups that want to improve beverage discovery, menu engagement, and average ticket size without requiring diners to install an app.
03How quickly can a restaurant launch?+
A restaurant can create its account, import menus, choose a brand style, and publish a diner link in one working session. Larger menus and detailed POS mapping may take additional time to review.
04Do diners need an account or app?+
No. Diners open the restaurant's public SipSavior link in their browser. They do not need a login, download, or SipSavior account.
05Can I preview the site before publishing it?+
Yes. The dashboard includes mobile and desktop previews on the main design and menu pages, and View your site opens the live diner experience in a separate tab.
AI pairing and sommelier logic
How recommendations are selected and explained.
01How does food-to-drink pairing work?+
A diner taps a dish and SipSavior ranks the best available drinks from that restaurant's saved inventory. Results include a top pick, additional choices, and a plain-language reason specific to the dish and drink.
02Can a diner start with a drink and find food?+
Yes. Pair Food reverses the flow. SipSavior ranks the restaurant's best menu dishes for the selected drink while also showing tasting notes, style, region, story, and other drink details.
03What does the sommelier consider?+
The pairing logic considers factors such as acidity, sweetness, tannin, body, aroma, intensity, finish, preparation, sauce, seasoning, richness, and texture. It is instructed to explain the actual complement or contrast rather than give generic praise.
04Does the AI recommend drinks that are not on my menu?+
Pairing results are constrained to the restaurant's saved drink list and applicable filters. Reverse food pairings are constrained to the restaurant's saved food menu.
05Can diners filter pairing results?+
Yes. Depending on the page and available inventory, diners can filter by drink type, wine style, glass or bottle, food or drinks, category, and service-specific menus.
06Can the restaurant review pairing quality?+
Yes. The Pairing Review tools let the owner evaluate recommendations. Diner pairing feedback and order activity can also be used to understand which recommendations are working.
Branding and diner pages
Making the experience look and feel like your restaurant.
01Can SipSavior match my restaurant's brand?+
Yes. Branding controls include themes, typography, primary and accent colors, button colors, text colors, logo uploads, background images, navigation visibility, mobile navigation imagery, footer settings, and layout options.
02Can SipSavior create a theme from my logo?+
Yes. Style Studio can analyze an uploaded logo's strongest colors and recommend a coordinated theme. The owner can continue adjusting every suggested color afterward.
03Which diner pages can I publish?+
Available experiences include Home, Menu, Drink & Food Pairing, Our Story, Wines, Beers, Craft Cocktails, Happy Hour, Brunch, reviews, and newsletter sign-up components. Navigation visibility is controlled separately from whether a page is enabled.
04Can I control the mobile navbar and bottom dock?+
Yes. The Branding dashboard controls which destinations appear in the top navigation and mobile hamburger menu. Bottom-dock items can be enabled independently, and hidden items are removed rather than leaving empty spaces.
05Can sections and buttons be hidden?+
Yes. Many sections have explicit visibility controls. Hero primary and secondary buttons can be hidden while retaining their labels and destinations, and optional sections can be turned off without deleting their content.
06Do background photos and videos work on mobile?+
Yes. Hero, page, banner, story, review, menu, wine, beer, cocktail, Happy Hour, and pairing backgrounds are designed to scale across desktop and mobile. Banner 2 can also use video.
QR codes, ordering, and POS
From a table scan to the restaurant's live order queue.
01Can every table have a different QR code?+
Yes. The QR dashboard creates persistent table records in DynamoDB and generates a unique link such as ?table=12 for each one. The table survives refreshes and is attached to visits and new orders from that scan.
02Where do diner orders appear?+
Orders appear in the POS Dashboard, a touch-friendly live queue that shows the saved QR table, ticket number, drinks, food, notes, elapsed time, total, POS reference, and fulfillment status.
03How quickly does the POS Dashboard update?+
The screen automatically checks for new orders every three seconds while visible. Staff can also refresh manually. Status changes are saved immediately.
04Can staff manage orders on an iPad?+
Yes. The POS Dashboard uses large touch targets and responsive queue/detail layouts for iPad, desktop, and mobile. Staff can start, mark ready, complete, move back, or reopen tickets.
05Which POS integration is live?+
Square is the active POS integration. Restaurants can connect a Square location, map saved food and drink records to catalog items, and create open orders that staff can finish in Square.
06What about Toast, Clover, and other POS systems?+
Toast, Clover, TouchBistro, SpotOn, Lightspeed Restaurant, Shift4 Dine, Cake POS, Revel Systems, Lavu, Epos Now, and SumUp are displayed as coming soon. Availability may change as integrations complete.
07Can SipSavior send an open ticket instead of charging the diner?+
With Square, SipSavior creates an open order workflow. The restaurant staff remains responsible for reviewing, serving, and closing payment through its normal POS process.
Analytics, reviews, and guest engagement
Understanding what diners explore, order, and enjoy.
01What can I see in Analytics?+
Analytics summarizes diner visits, pairing activity, selections, order intent, submitted orders, popular food and drinks, table attribution, and feedback signals so owners can focus on actionable beverage and menu performance.
02Can I tell which table placed an order?+
Yes, when the diner entered through a saved table QR. The table identifier is passed into the order and shown prominently in the POS Dashboard. Orders created before table tracking or without a table remain labeled as not provided.
03How do diner reviews work?+
Restaurants can enable reviews, collect ratings and comments, optionally record what the diner ordered, moderate submissions, and display approved reviews in a customizable section.
04Can review styling be customized?+
Yes. Admin controls include text and star colors, button colors, background color or image, overlay strength, card color and opacity, and review-card height.
05Can diners be directed to Google reviews?+
Yes. A restaurant can configure a Google review handoff shown consistently to diners who reach the relevant moment. The feature is designed to avoid review gating based on whether a guest gave a positive or negative rating.
06Can SipSavior collect newsletter subscribers?+
Yes. Restaurants can enable a branded newsletter sign-up footer. Subscriber records are available in the dashboard for authorized restaurant admins.
Pricing, accounts, and data
Trials, plans, ownership, and operational safeguards.
01Is there a free trial?+
Yes. SipSavior offers a 14-day free trial. Current checkout terms are shown before starting, and billing details should always be confirmed on the Pricing and checkout pages.
02How much does SipSavior cost?+
Current standard plans are Starter at $99/month and Growth at $299/month. Limits and included features are shown on the Pricing page, and multi-location options are available by contacting SipSavior.
03Is there a long-term contract?+
The standard pricing page describes month-to-month subscriptions. Billing changes, payment methods, cancellation status, and invoices are managed through the secure billing portal.
04Is each restaurant's data separate?+
Yes. Restaurant menu, drink, branding, QR, order, review, analytics, and integration records are tenant-scoped. Dashboard APIs resolve the signed-in restaurant rather than accepting an arbitrary restaurant ID from the browser.
05Where are uploaded images and saved settings stored?+
Structured restaurant records are stored in AWS DynamoDB. Uploaded assets use protected cloud object storage and are delivered through display URLs rather than being embedded into database records.
06Does SipSavior cache table QR records?+
No. Saved table definitions are loaded from DynamoDB through no-store dashboard APIs. QR pixels are regenerated from the durable table ID and current public restaurant URL.
07How do I get help or request a demo?+
Use Book a Demo to tell the team about your restaurant and menu, or start a trial to explore the dashboard directly. The demo form is the best route for setup, multi-location, and integration questions.
